Welcome to Chino Valley Equine Hospital

Main Text

Chino Valley also performs many orthopedic surgeries, including fracture fixation, angular limb deformities, arthodesis, in addition to a variety of arthroscopic and tenoscopic surgeries. The acquistion of a mobile MRI unit has facilitated our performance of navicular bursoscopy.

Navicular Bursoscopy

The navicular bursa is a closed sac, interposed between the dorsal surface of the distal part of the deep digital flexor tendon and the palmar surfaces of the navicular bone, impar ligament and collateral sesamoidean ligaments.

Adhesions occur in the navicular bursa between the deep digital flexor tendon (DDFT) and multiple other structures, including the collateral sesamoidean (suspensory) ligament (CSL), the flexor surface of the navicular bone, and the distal sesamoidean impar ligament (DSIL).

The acquisition at Chino Valley Equine Hospital of MRI has greatly increased our ability to diagnose and treat many conditions in the horse foot.
